Property information

Coach House Barn is a beautifully converted former cowshed with a wealth of beams, high ceilings and wooden floors. Occupying a quiet corner of a 30 acre estate some distance from a little-used country lane, the Barn has a wonderfully tranquil setting and enjoys panoramic views over the surrounding fields and wooded hills.

Neighbourhood information

Robertsbridge is a pretty medieval village with many listed buildings, set in rolling wooded hills. Nearby Bodiam Castle, a National Trust property, is a classic castle in all senses – turrets, large moat, spiral staircases, battlements, portcullis and impressive gatehouse which are well worth a visit. Other nearby National Trust properties include Rudyard Kipling's former home Bateman's, Scotney Castle, and Sissinghurst. There are plenty of great country pubs and restaurants in the area, including The George at Robertsbridge and The Castle Inn at Bodiam, and New Spice Indian Restaurant in the village gets plenty of good reviews. Nearby England’s oldest organic vineyard Sedlescombe Vineyard offers tastings and tours and has a fine café bar. Pashley Manor Gardens is a very fine example of an English country garden, open in the summer months, as is Great Dixter House and Gardens which has some winter opening hours too. Further afield is the quaint town of Battle, with its famous Abbey and battlefield, and the historic port of Rye is just nine miles away. The dunes and beach at Camber Sands are just a little further along the coast.
