FRENCH HERITAGE !
We welcome you to the Hotel-Museum of the Villa Bagatelle. It is a large property of the bourgeoisie of the beginning of the 20th century listed as a Historical Monument. After 4 years of restoration we offer 3 rooms:
"The Room of Muses" with its Art Nouveau furniture from the Ecole de Nancy and its boudoir bathroom. Come and discover the sweetness and refinement of life in 1900.
"The Oriental Chamber" inspired by the fascination for the east of the early 20th century. It is furnished with authentic pieces from Persia, Syria, Turkey. The bathroom equipped with a bathtub is inspired by Art-Deco. This room has a bed of 210 cm in length by 170 cm in width and separate toilet.
The Lady’s room, the most beautiful, the largest, almost an apartment, with private terrace and balcony and a separate wardrobe.
HERITAGE AND CLEANLINESS
Bagatelle offers you an immersion in the world 1900. You will be in contact with many elements of origin. Floors, woodwork, windows, toilet bowl, toilet flush, sink and faucet, mirrors, furniture, dishes, cutlery, tablecloths and towels. None of this is new, everything has been used by many people before you. These objects have aged, they have been restored, and it shows. That said, we make a very important effort on cleanliness, because it is essential to live in a clean universe. But to clean Bagatelle does not mean new!
All bedding, mattresses and sheets are new. Embroidered bolster pillowcases are old. All towels are new.
If despite our efforts the level of cleanliness (not to be confused with seniority) does not meet your expectations, tell us immediately , we will do our utmost to give you satisfaction. It is too bad not to fully enjoy these wonderful objects.
Bagatelle is a family home where Bernadette and Matthieu live and work as craftsmen. The Hotel-Museum is an original way of opening this exceptional house to a public in search of space, tranquility, comfort and refinement and sensitive to the authenticity of a universe of the early twentieth century.
AN ART WORKSHOP
Bernadette and Matthieu founded a glass design and manufacturing workshop in 1995. Bernadette creates jewelry and Matthieu creates stained glass windows and furniture. Some pieces are visible on site and can be purchased.
Our house is 15 minutes south of Lyon a few minutes from the A7 motorway and 100 meters from the wild Rhône where passes the Via Rhona.
Bagatelle is part of a group of properties that constitutes a large green area classified Protected Wooded Areas.
We are served by buses TCL 15 and 18 and 3 minutes from the train station IRIGNY-YVOURS.
Lyon-Saint-Exupéry LYS airport is 30 minutes away.
