The fine print
All guests need to be members of the DJH (German Youth Hostel Association) or Hosteling International (HI). Nonmembers must purchase the membership card at the hostel upon arrival. The DJH card for German guests costs EUR 7 for guests up to the age of 26, and EUR 22.50 for families or guests aged 27 and above (half price from June onwards) and is valid for the entire calendar year. The HI card for international guests costs EUR 18 and is valid for 1 year.
