The story of the sun The inn "Zur Sonne" is a patrician house from the 16th century. The first documentary evidence can be found in 1655, when the count palatine and duke of Bavaria resided with their wife and court in the "golden sun" for their midday meal. In 1860 Karl Seyringer acquired the etched tavern and brandy rights for the building at Weinmarkt 11 around 1600 marks. In the same year, the city erected a war memorial on the forecourt of the inn, the so-called wine market, which commemorated the city's sons, who fell in 1870/1871. Due to the shortage of raw materials in World War II was canceled on January 20, 1941 (with the note: "Metal donation of the German people") decided. The term "wine market" has become established over the years, as there used to be an extensive wine trade in the "Zur Sonne" inn and in the two adjacent buildings. The sun today After many years of "Sleeping Beauty" and extensive renovation work, the listed "Gasthaus zur Sonne" has shone in new splendor since it reopened on September 21, 2012.
I love dealing with people!
The city offers more than history turned to stone. Dinkelsbühl - this is a walk in the countryside around the old fortifications, in search of the “wall spirit”. Dinkelsbühl, that is a visit to the Wörnitz-Strandbad, one of the last river baths in Bavaria, that is the arsenal of the Kinderzeche, a unique, walk-in magazine, and that is the new “House of History - of War and Peace”, an exciting production of over 800 years of imperial city history. Since autumn 2008, the museum has been housed in the Old Town Hall, an attractive building complex from the 14th to 16th centuries, and recently received an award for its pioneering, modern design and appealing dramaturgy. Dinkelsbühl is also the Landestheater Franken-Schwaben, which offers ambitious spectacles all year round and with the summer festival in the garden on the rampart a crowd puller, Dinkelsbühl is finally the historic city festival and the fish harvest week, which in early November lovers of this healthy and tasty food in the region attracts as much as the charming Christmas market in the courtyard of the former hospital.
