Property info

Our hillside hideaway "The Northland Lodge" was built in 1928 by Louis Hill of the Great Northern Railway. Mr Hill built many of the lodges in Glacier National Park as well as the Prince of Wales Hotel. It was built as a summer home for his family. In 1948 after his death the Earl and Bessie Hacking family purchased the building from the Hill Estate and it has been in the family since. It boasted the largest home in Waterton in 1928 but is small by today's standards. We offer our "sit and sip" in the mornings where guests can have a cup of coffee, tea, juice and our hot muffins and visit with other guests and discuss their adventures.

Neighborhood info

We are located in a residential section of town, away from the bustling noise of downtown, but a short 5 minute walk to anywhere in town as Waterton is only about 1.5 kilometers in circumference. From your room window you can hear the sounds of Cameron Falls just a half a block away. Out your door are several hiking trailheads including Bertha Falls, Bertha Lake, Carthew-Alderson Summit and Boundary Bay and a mere 2 blocks away are the beaches of Waterton Lake and the trail along the lakeshore into downtown.
