Our cozy guest house is run by Ian and Gwen and a wonderful group of friends, staff and volunteers. Gwen is originally from South Africa and Ian from Scotland. They met in Scotland during Gwen's studies in Edinburgh. Ian spent many years travelling to Bulgaria and other countries in Eastern and Central Europe before this, on humanitarian aid missions and charity work. Many of our friends, staff and volunteers come from this time. We are grateful to previous owners Bev and Graeme who put their love and passion into the property and their guests. We are excited to offer to our guests the opportunity to relax and unwind and be cared for in a truly beautiful and tranquil setting. We both love meeting new people and welcoming them back again and again, exchanging experiences, adventures and lifestyles. Our aim is that our guests arrive as clients and leave as friends! Only 15 minutes from the historical old capital of Veliko Tarnovo and a 20 minutes beautiful drive from the E85 route you will find us here at Sunflower Guest House. As you enter the grounds of the property you will see our BBQ area and sunbeds, which are free of charge to our guests. These are conveniently located in a section of the garden directly outside all four units with a seating area which is prettily lit in the evenings. To the left of the garden is our covered outdoor lounge. Here there is comfortable seating for you to enjoy the evenings reminiscing of your time enjoying the surrounding area. It even holds a pool table, darts board, football table and mini table tennis table. We also offer an above ground pool for cooling off during the long hot summer days. Our four units are tastefully furnished each in a different style with touches of luxury. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, kettle,TV with Netflix, Prime video and youtube plus free WiFi and air conditioning to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter ensuring your stay with us will be comfortable all year round. The rooms include a sleek contemporary style bedroom with a double bed and sofa, a twin bedroom in an African theme and a romantic French Cottage styled bedroom complete with a super king size metal bed, original beams and a bay window. These three rooms are all on ground level and the doors open onto a sheltered terrace with table and chairs where you can be served breakfast from our range of hot and cold dishes. Our fourth unit is a one bedroom studio complete with a kitchen/ lounge area, log burner, bathroom with corner bath and shower cubicle plus a bedroom with twin or double bed. During cooler weather we can serve meals in our new guest dining room and lounge area. Free on site parking available.

Wow. So much to do whilst at Sunflower Guest House. We have historical Veliko Tarnovo with its museums, shops, cobbled streets and restaurants plus - Horse Riding, Quad Bike/ATV off road safari, Tsarevgrad Fort and its night light show, the Park of Miniatures, Nicopolis ad Istrun all of which are local to us. A little further afield you can visit Dryanovo Monastery with its eco river walk and local caves, Etara ethnographic village, Tryavana village and so much more !
