Welcome to your perfect home away from home in Merredin! It offers everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing experience. Come at the right time of the year and you will be able to pick delicious fruit from the many fruit trees.
Hello, I'm Laura. I'm a local teacher and mother of three. I am the proud owner of this lovely home in Merredin, it once belonged to my parents but I bought it off them with the plan to create a welcoming, comfortable space for visitors to enjoy our special town. Merredin is a great place to visit, and I love helping guests make the most of their stay. I’m always happy to offer tips on what to see and do. As a member of the local Wildflower Society I am more than happy to tell you the best places to see the best wildflowers.
As someone born and raised in Merredin, I’m proud to call this beautiful Wheatbelt town home. Whether you're here for a short stop or a longer stay, there’s plenty to discover – especially if you love nature, history, and a good coffee! Nature & Wildflowers: Merredin is a wildflower lover’s dream, especially during August and September. As a member of the Wildflower Society of WA, I highly recommend visiting Tamma Parkland and Totadgin Rock Conservation Park, both offer stunning displays of native flora, including orchids and red-flowered mallees. Merredin Peak is a must do for the best view in town, with fascinating WWII remnants along the walk. Arts & History: Catch a show or sneak a behind-the-scenes tour at the iconic Cummins Theatre. Explore the town’s rich military and rail history at the Merredin Railway Museum and Military Museum, or stop in at the Central Wheatbelt Visitor Centre for even more local insights. Don’t miss a photo at the Merredin Silo Art – it’s a favourite! Parks & Family Fun: Relax and watch the ducks at Roy Little Park, let the kids run wild at Apex Park, or pack a picnic for one of the many scenic spots around town. Places to Eat: Start your day at Wild Poppy Café (run by my sister Hayley!) it’s hands-down the best breakfast and lunch spot in town. Other lunch options include Subway, the Bakery and Commercial Hotel Restaurant. For dinner, choose from a variety of pubs, pizza places, and roadhouses, including MJ’s, Merredin Pizza, Northside Tavern, and Jimmy’s Palace (BYO). Whatever brings you to Merredin, I hope you enjoy your stay and experience the beauty, history, and hospitality that make this town so special.
