Welcome to your home-from-home in beautiful Kiama - perfect for a relaxing holiday, a short layover on your east coast roadtrip, or your new work-from-home office by the ocean.
Summer Villa is a free-standing property, built in 2018 and located in a quiet, residential cul-de-sac. With two bedrooms and one bathroom, it can accommodate a maximum of four people, offering one Double and one Queen-sized bed. Once you’re settled in, it is only a 5-minute walk to the train station, and then a short walk to the surf beach, and the pubs, cafes and restaurants of Manning and Terralong streets. The location combines peace and quiet with easy access to all the facilities needed for a perfect stay…
As you’d expect from a home-from-home, Summer Villa has a fully equipped kitchen with a hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and full-size fridge freezer. You will also have exclusive access to a 50Mbps fibre-to-the-building wi-fi 7 internet connection.
In the living area, there's a widescreen Google TV that receives free-to-air and streaming channels - just bring along your login credentials for your favourite channels to start watching.
Heating and cooling is provided by an excellent aircon unit in the living area. Additional electric heaters are available for the bedrooms as required in the cooler months. Additionally, the living area and both bedrooms have ceiling fans. As a bonus, the bathroom has a surprisingly effective heat lamp to take the edge off on the cooler mornings.
There's no charge for parking anywhere in Kiama (at the time of printing), so you'll be able to park pretty much anywhere on the street. There's also off-street parking on the driveway for a single car.
Note that Summer Villa is located on one of the hills overlooking Kiama (hence the view), so the last part of the short walk from town might not be suitable for everyone.
Diana and Simon are your hosts. Together, they’ve visited 50+ countries over the years, staying in plenty of holiday accommodation along the way. They bring their travel experience to Kiama to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you need local tips or recommendations, just ask!
Summer Villa is in a quiet residential neighborhood, with the advantage of being walking distance to pretty much everything (although you’ll have to negotiate a bit of a hill on the way back). When you look out the window at the back of the Villa, you’ll see the bowling club. Venture further along the road and you’ll come across the Railway Station that joins Kiama to Sydney and Bondi. Turn right before the Station and you’ll see The Grand Hotel. Built in 1891 it is full of character and characters, with two great open fires in the Winter, loads of outdoor seating and excellent seasonal menus and specials. Booking advised. Carry on left past the Grand onto Manning Street and find the Manning Street Local for your complimentary coffee. At this point you can cross over and walk down Bong Bong and enjoy the stunning views across the Surf Beach, the location of the fantastic Wednesday farmer’s market and also Sunday sips from 3-6pm from October-April at the Surf Life Saving Club. Or carry on down Manning towards the harbour and find the award-winning Parfait Patisserie - another great choice for coffee and cake. They also bake super-tasty sourdough loaves daily (the smell of baking bread outside at 7am is amazing). Note that they regularly sell out, so don’t leave it too late.
Continue along Manning St towards the harbour, then head right towards the blowhole and coastal walk or left towards the cafes and eateries on Terralong St. If you need a supermarket, Woolies is at the far end of Terralong St in Kiama Village. There’s also a butcher on Terralong and a Fish Market on the harbour (temporarily closed at the time of writing, but we hope it will reopen soon).
There are also 2 ocean pools either side of the harbour if you fancy a dip and a few regular pelicans and stingrays who hang out by the boat ramp for those who like a bit of wildlife.
In short, it’s all there - moments from your doorstep!
