Lorelei B&B is set in a large, beautiful Federation-style building built as a residence Portland’s famous Dr Sleeman in 1914. It has been operating as a traditional Bed and Breakfast since 1999, and I have owned and operated the business since 2004. Guests are greeted with the Reception area with large leadlight windows featuring a pair of magpies and a kookaburra. Adjacent to each side of the Reception area are two large rooms. One is the Dining Room where refreshments are freely available 24/7. Breakfast is served here each morning from 7:30 until 9:30am. On colder mornings a HeatCharm log fire will be burning to welcome guests with a burst of warmth. Breakfast consists of a selection of cereals, fruits, juice, toast and yogurts and guests may consume as much of this as they please. A selection of jams, marmalade etc. are available as well as a variety of teas, coffee and orange juice. A cooked breakfast is available each morning at an added charge and this can be ordered during the breakfast service. The other main communal room is the Guest Lounge for guests to enjoy anytime they like. Red wine and Port are also available here. This rooms features a large box/bay window and an open fireplace. From the Reception is a hallway leading to the guests’ private rooms on the north and west sides of the house. Each of the rooms are a generous size (25-35m2) and have their own private ensuite bathrooms, each with a bath and shower. These rooms feature a queen-size bed, comfortable seating, and modern remote-controlled heating/cooling. The rooms also have their own TV with a Foxtel satellite set-top box featuring movies, sport, news and entertainment. Lorelei B&B is also set on nearly 1600m2 and the large garden features a huge, 100-year-old Carolina Poplar. There is a large covered verandah with seating provided for all guests to enjoy. I have owned and managed Lorelei B&B since 2004 and I enjoy living in this part of the south-west coast of Victoria, Australia. Portland and its surrounds are a wonderful experience surrounded by amazing rugged coastline, native forests and easy short day-trips to many spectacular attractions in the region.

We are centrally located in Portland, but far enough away from the busy roads and highway to allow us to enjoy the peace of this quiet country town while still only walking distance to all of the town's attractions.
