Located in a historic prison complex, they had an exhibit on the ground level explaining the history of the complex and how it worked.There were restaurants and a cafe close by. Cool little shops as well. Lift is handy if you're coming with heavy bags or suitcases. The room and bathroom was big enough. It was super clean. The beds were comfortable. They kept little features of the jail cell like the switches and the button to open the cell door with which was a nice touch. The staff were efficient and friendly with checking us in and out. They also gave good tips on places to see and where to eat.

At the hostel, the rooms include a wardrobe. Featuring a private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer, rooms at Logementen Dokkum also provide guests with free WiFi. At the accommodation every room includes a desk and a TV. We liked the cleanliness, friendly staff, and comfortable accommodations.

Guests aged 16 or 17 may also stay in a private room without being in the company of an adult, provided they can present a filled in consent form by their caretakers upon arrival at the hostel. Please send the hostel an email for the consent form. Exceptionally good value. The hostel sits right on the edge of the West-Terscheling settlement. It is feasible to go on foot to/from the ferry. The view from the large shared bedrooms is onto the wadden sea. You'll be able to see tides come and go no matter the weather. The included breakfast is really good as well.
