Facing the seafront in Kyleakin, Skye Backpackers features barbecue facilities. Among the various facilities are a garden and a shared lounge. Both free WiFi and private parking are available at the hostel. Everything was neat and tidy, especially the kitchen. The bed was not as comfy as the one I had last year at Pitlochry Backpackers - this is relevant because they are part of the same organization. Did appreciate having two pillows though as at Pit. The breakfast was a good value at 3.50 sterling

All of the rooms and dormitories provide bed linen. our room is facing Skye Bridge direction. Good location for scenery. The 2 staff (John and Cameron) were very friendly and helpful. Good place for holidays

The hostel is in a fantastic location, the rooms are clean and bright and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The bunk beds are fixed to the walls so you don't get shaken about when the person in the other bunk turns over or gets out of bed.

I had been concerned by previous poor reviews but hostel was much better than I expected. It was very basic but had all the facilities needed. Plenty of space in kitchen and sitting area with two cookers and fridges and multiple tables and chairs. Handy for restaurants or Supermarket to get food to cook. Bunk bed was fine so no complaints and a good start to my cycling tour.

Location..close to town. There was a youth hostel like communal kitchen which would have been good to know about so that we could have taken advantage of it. They allowed us to leave bags prior to checkin time.

Right in the centre of Portree, near the port and most dining places. It's a hostel, so there's a shared kitchen, which was quite large and well-equipped. Rooms had the spare minimum (bunk beds, chair).

Youth hostel in the center of Portree. Facility very clean, well organized with very nice rooms. No complaints. Kitchen very clean, easy access, three stoves so cooking something was very easy. Great place.

The bedding was surprisingly comfortable for a youth hostel. I also liked the self-serve kitchen and they had some games and puzzles in the community area. Hostel manager was very nice and talkative.

I've stayed at a few Backpackers hostels so I know what to expect. For the solo traveller who works outdoors, I always find the accommodation to be satisfactory for the price. The rooms and shower facilities are perfectly adequate and the kitchen area is always kept clean and tidy. Also, the woman on the front desk was super friendly and helpful!

It was a cheap hostel, so I'm not expecting the best of conditions. Nevertheless, it was clean, people are friendly, with a great location and view to skye bridge, in the lovely place of Kyleakin.
