The owner, Hisham, was exceptionally welcoming and generous during my stay. This is funny because i think Hisham means generous in Arabic. He lives up to his name! I will book again if I am back in Tangier!

Everything. Seriously, this is hands down my favorite hostel simply from the service and facilities. Everyone behind the hostel has been so friendly, kind and welcoming. Shoutout to Oussama, Issam, Soufiane, Fatima, Amine, Reda and all of the rest (sorry if I missed your name)! They will make sure you feel at home, whether that means sharing a meal, giving the best local insights or making sure that everyone is fairly following the rules. I also loved the rooms and common areas. There's plenty of space to hang out and interact with everyone at the hostel. There's cool workshops and events on the rooftop as well where you can meet people from Tangier while enjoying the views. The rooms are absolutely spotless, beds got curtains (huge plus in my book), spacious rooftop, and just great great fun. If you want to meet Moroccans and interact closely with the culture, then Socco is the place for you. You'll have an endless amount of advice, hospitality and kindness right at your doorstep.

Great first introduction to Morocco. Best location to stay in Tanger, in the amazing medina. One advice: the medina is a maze indeed, so pay attention to the route you take when you leave the hostel, or it could be an adventure to find your way back :)
