NetherlandsVery enthusiastic and kind owner, who let me borrow an adapter when I forgot to bring mine. Great location near Shingu Station, I could easily catch the first Kuroshio train to Kansai Airport early in the morning. Unfortunately I only stayed for two nights, but I'm sure it'd be good for longer stays as well. I'd love to come back someday to explore Shingu more!

JapanThe shop owners are an elderly couple who are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Staying here feels just like being at home. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The husband even told us to feel free to drink as much wine as we like. The kitchen is fully equipped. This is a warm and cozy place where you'd want to stay forever.

For 2 days I was literally alone, it was super quiet. You have everything you need if you want to prepare your meals. She even recommended me a very cute cafe you should visit right next to the hostel: ユータウン with a very cute indoor garden and amazing pancakes. We had a long trip behind us with some fancy hotels and we felt so much better in why kumano than in some other places. It was great to meet some of the other guests and everyone was really kind. Clean and nice showet. Nice staff. The hostel is right by the train station so it was very convenient as I was taking the train early the next morning.
