Set in a grand Victorian mansion, YHA Langdale is a National Trust property with leafy grounds, cosy log fires and a restaurant. The Lake District hostel is situated between Elterwater and Grasmere.

The location was sublime, set in a protected national park. The building was beautiful with large lounge areas and views over the greenery. As always at YMA, the room we were given was very clean. One of the nicest YMA hostels we visited.

Though a 5-8 minute walk into the centre of Coniston, the location is good! Draws under beds to lock precious items away (BYO lock). Warm, clean.

Loved this YHA. Short walk to Hawkshead village with a small shop, pubs and great ice cream! Some amazing walks had from here.

Sweet old building with a great kitchen, or reasonably priced restaurant if you don't want to cook. The rooms were basic but absolutely did the job. The view out the back is beautiful.

Set within the beautiful Lakeland village of Grasmere, this Victorian mansion features fabulous views of the surrounding fells and valleys. Guests can enjoy the restaurant and relaxing TV lounge.
