We recommend staying here. The owners were very nice and helpful, they showed us immediately after arriving what you can do in the city and what you can see for free. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, good wi-fi, working air conditioning, hot water in the bathroom. We recommend trying the hand-made dumplings owner, they are delicious, inexpensive and serve large portions. On the terrace, you can often find 3 very cute cats that are just waiting to be stroking. The owner speaks good English.

The location is perfect. You are directly in the city and it's very close to the university campus. There is an endless number of opportunities to get a nice meal nearby. The hosts were very clear, helpful and kind and could also speak english without effort. The facilities are also very nice. The room was clean and the shower is very comfortable.

We had a pleasant stay at Murphys. The hotel is not that central located, but there is no problem to commute to the sightseeing spots in Guilin. Especially the staff is awesome. You get a warm welcome, good travel advises and the English is super (noooot always the case in China). Would stay here again, if I end up in Guilin.

I can't imagine why Booking.com gave this such a low rating, considering the reviews are nearly all good. And for me it was EXCELLENT 10 out of 10. Very comfortable, soft bed, clean, good price, pleasant staff and great location close to the train station.
