A wonderful host and home. We stayed in a room that accommodated 4 people in Japanese styled bedrooms. A traditional home, it was a beautiful experience. The hostess was so helpful, accommodating and warm. She helped ensure we had the best stay and got to know the local restaurants and shops. Would stay here again!

La maison est sublime, très ancienne et rénovée avec goût, la cuisine professionnelle permet de se préparer de vrai repas, un bon point avec des enfants! Idéalement placée au pied du mont Aso, cette maison a été le point fort de notre voyage au Japon et nous en garderons un merveilleux souvenir.

Situé à Minami Aso et offrant une vue sur la montagne, l’établissement Himawari comprend un jardin, un salon commun et une terrasse. Très bon emplacement, parfait pour la randonnée et les onsens! Hôte très sympathique et prévenant, toujours aux petits soins. Je recommande à 100%

L’établissement Wakka vous accueille à Minami Aso, à respectivement 31 km et 37 km de ces lieux d’intérêt : Stade Egao Kenkō et Parc Suizenji. Great view at reasonable price. Very kind hosts and well maintained facility. You may find it rather hard to find the right route to reach there if you’re not accustomed to Japanese rural narrow roads, but it’s definitely worth the try.

The host was incredibly kind. She introduced each floor of the house to us after checkin in. There’s a common room with board games, manga, little trickers, a beautiful rooftop with the view of Kumamoto castle, an incredibly cute kitchen. The place felt magical.

Je me suis senti bien accueilli dès le moment où j’ai franchi la porte d’entrée, l’hôte m’a même introduit au sanshin, un instrument traditionnel japonais, que j’ai pu emprunter pour en jouer dans ma chambre. Tout était propre et bien rangé, rien à redire !

A beautiful traditional style Japanese house, surrounded by the owners’ orchard and work shed. ;) Shono and Sae are incredibly sweet abd welcoming, eager to help and share. They offer plentiful snacks and vegetables and a fully equipped kitchen for use. We enjoyed using the shared kitchen and being able to hang our laundry to dry outside. The room was perfect and cool at night with pure mountain air! The shrine in Miyaji is also beautiful!
