He was/is an excellent host and it was lovely to hear the story of how his family came to own the hotel. The building is beautiful, the rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds, the dining area was bright and open, the food was excellent and all the staff were 1st class.

Owner Michael Lawrence and his team offer a warm welcome to the Scottish Borders. Very personable and friendly team. Long distance drive meant that I would be arriving late. Not a problem for the Wheatsheaf Inn, I received a phone call half-way through my journey to see how I was getting on. Rooms very clean, I had a great night sleep, bed was very comfy. The breakfast was 10/10 with lots of choices outside of your standard cooked breakfast.

I had a great sleep in the comfy bed, and the room was cosy and warm. The bathroom was immaturely clean and had a nice hot shower. Private entrance so you can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone. I would definitely stay again.
