I enjoyed staying with Aashish, Sujata, and Manju for several weeks (March-April '23) as an IVHQ volunteer from New Jersey. I couldn't have been more pleased; every need I had was met. And talk about a room: I was accommodated on the beautiful rooftop terrace with a balcony that gazed over the Himalayan foothills. I would highly encourage couples to reserve this specific space. Location: Kirtipur is not merely a place on a map, but a living canvas for human history. It’s a place where ancient temples coexist harmoniously with modern life, perched high along the hillside overlooking the capital city of Kathmandu. Though Kirtipur Comfort Homestay is outside of central Kathmandu, it is incredibly easy, fast, and affordable to travel there via the app InDrive (similar to Uber, Lyft, etc). Thus, the location should encourage you. In fact, I recommend staying outside of Kathmandu for a full 360-degree experience. Kirtipur Comfort Homestay is an opportunity to experience Kathmandu Valley from the inside out. Comfort: I have experience living in several homestays throughout Central/Southeast Asia as both a volunteer and a backpacker. I feel that my time at Kirtipur Comfort Homestay allowed me to connect the most deeply with my host family and fellow travelers. I also found the facilities clean, comfortable, and genuine. The house itself is quite large, allowing for some privacy, but also brings people together in the spacious living room. Kirtipur Comfort Homestay lives up to its name. Food: Although I ended up eating out often with fellow volunteers, I loved the food provided by the homestay. Breakfasts are simple, but filling: an abundance of fresh fruit, toast, coffee, tea, and sometimes pastries. Dinners are cooked in-house - traditional Nepali cuisine - with offerings such as dal bhat. Vegetarians and vegans can surely be accommodated with these offerings. But we ordered Western-style dishes too, like pizza.

That’s the best home stay you can find in Kathmandu. It’s super clean and beautiful. The place is located in a quiet area in 10 mins by bike from Thamel. Owners are very nice, they allow sometimes use kitchen also. We really enjoyed our stay Stupa View Inn ,particularly regarding its location and staff. Stupa View Inn offers a comfortable and welcoming stay, for travelers seeking a quieter alternative to the bustling Thamel district. Its proximity to the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) is a major draw, allowing for easy access to this significant cultural site. We love frequently highlight the exceptional helpfulness of the staff, who contribute significantly to a pleasant experience. The inn's rooftop terrace is a standout feature, providing stunning views of the surrounding Kathmandu Valley. Additionally, the availability of reliable Wi-Fi great for WiFi junket and hot showers is consistently praised. Location is in a quiet area, it was “just like home” with Roshani and Sugat. Nice to return to the quiet at night, away from the business of other Kathmandu areas. Roshani and Sugat are both very accommodating and kind. Was easy to communicate via whats app before and during stay. An short walk to main road and from there, walk, (or taxi) to many of the points of interest in and around Kathmandu. Roshani and Sugat were very helpful with directions, banking, SIM card, use of taxi app, places to eat and see etc etc. Lovely hosts!

Mums Homestay is the best accommodation I have in my first trip to Nepal!!! The location is away from the busy center, but very near to the Monkey Temple, walking distance:) . Also, you can easily move around with Pathao app, no big trouble. The beautiful house is located in a quiet residential area, which just few steps to many eateries and groceries around. The room I got was spotlessly cleaned, supper comfy mattress and a cute balcony. Hot water was excellent tooo!! What i love most tho is the hosts, Mira, her husband and her fur baby are all so warm and lovely. She made me breakfast and dinner, which were all very yummm. They also recommended me some good local restaurants and they were all spot on. I enjoyed conversations with them alot and you learn abit more about amazing Nepal. Thank you so much for the wonderful accommodation and hospitality!

We had a wonderful stay at Rokpa Guest House! Our room was spacious and comfortable, and very clean. Staff were attentive, kind, and helpful and arranged an excellent driver for us on short notice. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious and the restaurant staff were all excellent. We also very much enjoyed the rooftop cafe with a view of the stupa! An excellent place to stay in Bouddha!
