Amazing place! There is only huge glass window between you and the nature. The room is perfectly clean and nice. The host is very welcoming and frendly. The best guide who is professionaly seek animals, tells about the forest tenderly, loving and fascinating.

We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. If anyone asks me where I'd really like to go back, it's right here. The owner has arranged a guide to the forest, the lady is a wonderful cook, and I could sit on the porch all week taking pictures of the surroundings. They were all very kind and willing. This is where I was most satisfied.

Such a wonderful experience! We stayed for one night at this magical place and it was perfect. It’s a cozy and clean wood house in the middle of a rainforest. Through the big window you can watch the rainforest life while you’re laying in the bed. The owner is such a friendly guy and is very dedicated to making the stay as pleasant as possible. The typical Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended.

Amazing location with view to the family garden/tea plantation and the river, many birds and wildlife passing by (saw a few peacocks flying in front of the balcony which still surprises me!).The couple is super caring/attentive and serve amazing, diverse and plenty of food. The room is quite big with a cozy decoration and plenty of seating and a lovely balcony.

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, wish we could’ve stayed longer! The villa is super peaceful, the hosts are very kind and welcoming, on hand for anything you need and the rooms were lovely and clean. We have been travelling for a while now, and this was the most peaceful, welcomed and at home we felt in a very long time. The bonus was the incredible food. We ate Sri Lankan food for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we wanted to experience it properly with some spice and the chef exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely incredible and possibly the best we’ve had in a very very long time. Everything was fresh, portions were extremely generous and super flavoursome. We recommend the room with a balcony as you can relax there for hours watching the birds pass by and they get pretty close. Very special. Thank you for being such great hosts and making it special for us!

Our stay at the Rainforest River Bay was amazing! The family is really nice and helped us with everything. The food and tea was exceptional. We did a tour through the rainforest with Kasun (the owner of the guesthouse). He has a huge knowledge about the forest, its plants and animals. Thank you for the lovely weekend we really enjoyed it!!

The family was really welcoming and willing to help you. The owner is also a natural guide and will tell you so much about sinharaja forest and its animals and plants. Deniyaya is quite a remote place far from the crowds but the nature is beautiful, the house is in the countryside and there are so many monkeys and birds in the garden! It's really a peaceful and genuine atmosphere. It's really easy to get there by bus! 100% suggested.

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in the Sri Lankan rainforest. The host and his whole family were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The homemade food was delicious and freshly prepared every day. Our room was spacious and clean. The rainforest tour was a highlight – we learned and saw so much, and the guides passion and knowledge made the experience truly unforgettable. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sri Lanka.
