The owner, JJ, and his team were very friendly and hospitable. The room was clean and comfortable and they organized a trip to Abu Simbel for me. When I got sick, they postponed the trip by a day, so I had time to get back in shape. JJ's wife also served me the strongest ginger tea I have ever had, to get me back up. Days later, while I was staying at another place, I walked past the hotel again and JJ spontaneously invited me to a dinner they were throwing for a group of guests. Thanks a lot!

This guest house is perfect for families with children. Bibo and his wonderful family provide an exceptionally warm welcome. His mother, sisters, and he take care of everyone with such kindness, creating a family-friendly environment where both kids and parents feel immediately at home. Our children absolutely loved the place, and we, as parents, truly appreciated the peaceful and safe setting. The homemade food is simply divine—full of flavors and made with love. The tranquility of this place is perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. This guest house is brand new and undoubtedly the best place to stay on Elephantine Island. It’s wonderfully clean, welcoming, and authentic. If you’re looking for a kid-friendly spot to create unforgettable family memories, look no further. They are also great at telling us what to do and organizing things. A great laid back place to stay on the West Bank, close to the public ferry and the tombs of the nobles. The facilities are new and clean. The owners and his family are super hospitable. We also ordered lunch which was delicious. No regretting we have chosen the place and we will definitely come back.

Beautiful house on Elefantine Island. Everything brand new and of good quality. Host Abu picked us up on arrival, organised a free sunset tour (just tip the guide at the end). We also booked transportation to Abu Simbel and Luxor at a very reasonable price through Abu, in very comfortable cars. We were able to use the washing machine for free, there is an equipped kitchen to use. Food is very tasty. Beautiful rooftop restaurant.

We arrived late in the night, Mohammed the owner helped us carry the luggage from the boat pier to the guesthouse. Mohammed also managed that we arrived easily with shuttle pick up from the airport. Everything was very clean and neat in the house. The view of our room on the top floor was spectacular. We felt like visiting a good friend. We felt very welcome and definitely will come again when visiting egypt the next time.

I had a wonderful stay at Airkela Nuba Dool 2. It is run by amazing people and this is what I appreciated most, after even having seen wonderful temples of Abu Simbel, Philae, Unfinished Obelisk, and the Nubian Village. We felt like we were at home. People there are super helpful 24/7, warm, kind and nice. One of the best hotels I have ever been to. You won’t feel like you are tired after you come back from a day trip to Abu Simbel or Philae. Just an amazing place!!! Can’t describe how comfy I felt there. You feel like you are dreaming while being at Airkela located on the Elephantine island - in the middle of the Nile river and the most stunning part of the town of Aswan. The host organised everything for us after we asked him to help us with trips to several temples and sites near Aswan. You can even request a tour to Abu Simbel and all the stuff is organised for you swiftly just hop on the car with super nice drivers. I am still processing how amazing it was to stay at Aswan. The rooms are exquisitely beautiful, furnished with Nubian styled colourful furniture and have beautiful views over the Nile. You will find yourself in some fairy tail. We could not believe that we were staying in such a fantastic place. My friends and I arrived at midnight and the host organised a car for us which brought us to the hotel. The hotel is on the island as I mentioned above and to go to the bank in Aswan one has to take a super cute boat which functions every 15 minutes and takes 2-3 minutes to go to the other side of the Nile. The hotel also has a boat which you can ask to rent and the employees will take you on the tour on the Nile and to the majestic Nubian village to buy some local yummies and spices as well as locally made souvenirs. Airkela is a true paradise for holidaymakers! I 100% recommend this place! Cheers to its owners and people who work there! I miss you!

    Bassam was a great host, no pressure or hassle like so common in Egypt; booked several tours for us at a fair price. The upstairs terrace was lovely, even though it was hot.

    I’m convinced this is the best place to stay in Aswan. It might be a little bit hard to find in the island, but there were locals who kindly showed me the way upon my arrival. There’s a beautiful garden, the staff is friendly and the room is very nice. The breakfast they serve is superb and you can also buy water and soda’s for a good price instead of having to go to a shop. Extra points for having the goodest dog in Aswan.

    The experience is unmatched. First homestay and very memorable. Family friendly atmosphere. Comfy room and bathrooms. Trip along the Nile to Philae Temple. Eating dinner together was special. Really tasty food. Relaxing in the evening and listening to locals play music. Being able to absorb the Nubian culture was special.

    Bassam was a great host. The effort he has put into the roof area was really amazing, such a nice space to hang out and chat with him and other travellers. Showers were hot, AC was great. It was nice to stay on the West Bank and use the ferry over to the main city on the East Bank with all the locals. Very cheap and easy, but is something to be aware of. Great WiFi in the rooftop area, plenty of spaces there to chill out.
