The room was so pretty, with the high ceilings and decoration. The staircase in the building is breathtaking. I also liked the little garden in the back, perfect for morning coffee.

A truly exceptional hotel, beautifully and tastefully renovated. We were genuinely impressed by the elegant design of the room. The service was outstanding, with attentive and thoughtful staff who went out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The administrator provided us with excellent restaurant recommendations, which greatly enhanced our experience. Breakfast was of high quality and thoroughly enjoyable. We would very highly recommend this hotel without hesitation.

A well done renovation to an old building. The owner also runs a restaurant next door and the food is authentic Guimaraes cuisine. Private gated parking made leaving to explore the nearby attractions pleasant since I did not have to worry about finding parking.

An exceptional place in all respects: location, comfort, facilities, safety and cleanliness. An air of generosity pervades the property. We had an excellent local food meal at the little restaurant about 2 metres from the front door!

We only had time to stay in Guimaraes for two nights but we packed a lot of walking and sight seeing into the time we had. The Trovador Guest house operates from a small group of houses in the older part of town near what was the leather tanning area of the city. There are lots of interesting buildings around the area bars, cafes and eateries within easy walking distance. Our room was spotlessly clean and it was evident that the building had recently been restored - very tastefully decorated and furnished. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and they went out of their way to help us find things that we were looking for. A great breakfast was also provided with lots of pasteries, and fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juices etc.

Located in Guimarães and with Salado Memorial reachable within a 6-minute walk, CTR Guest House provides a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace.

CTR Guesthouse was in a lovely building in a fantastic location. While I stayed there it was almost radio silent. I barely interacted with anyone coming in and out and in the common area. I had the top floor to myself which meant I had a bathroom to myself as well. The bathroom was super clean and the shower was a nice size. There is one other room upstairs but it was unoccupied. I stayed Sunday-Tuesday so I think that could be why. The kitchen and dining room downstairs are massive and you have tons of space and cookware. I really appreciated the complimentary coffee. The location was amazing. Walking distance right in the middle of the bus station, a large grocery store, and Old Town. Everything was in about a ten minute walk. It was honestly incredible. I would recommend this place if you want some peace and quite or if you are in a group and wanted to rent out some rooms for a longer stay. My only complaint is that the internet wasn't super fast but it still functioned and wasn't that big of a deal. If you need to get work done maybe something to consider.

The tranquility, the charm, the atmosphere, an idealistic spot where there is life with a cultivated garden, a modest orchard and plants of all sort abound. All of this tended to by Marcus, Ingrid, their daughters and a sprightly octogenarian Ingrid’s mom, Maggie. All fine warm hearted folks. You hate leaving.
