The sweetest couple running a jam and drink shop, which you’ll stay next door to. Close to a Lawson (3 min walk). The folks running the place clearly care about their guests and are very caring and kind. They provide tons of information about Hakata Island, and have curated a restaurant and map of where you can go for food since there isn’t too much on the island. We felt so cared for and looked after when we arrived after cycling for 4 hours in the pouring rain. Thank you so much for your kindness and we would happily return just to say hi and have more jams!

Very cozy, quiet, relaxing, Japanese-style place. Very good dinner and breakfast. Dinner highly recommended not only because it is very good, but also because probably there is no restaurant in the village.

I had a fabulous stay at this guesthouse. It's been recently renovated and beautiful. Simply decorated with a lot of attention to detail. Very tidy and quiet. Most amazing was the owner - she was so welcoming and hospitable in a very humble way. The dinner was among the most delicious food I had in Japan, the sake was great, and the breakfast was good, too. The experience felt very authentic and was a highlight of my trip to Japan. I highly recommend staying at this guesthouse.

This place is perfect for cyclists on the Shimanami Kaido! It’s located midway along the trail, making it great overnight point. It’s close to the trail and access is via quiet backroads. There is a small supermarket a short 5-minute walk away for snacks and to replenish calories. We visited in the spring when it was colder and the property was snug and warm. There is a kotatsu (a traditional Japanese heated table) which is an amazing place to relax and drink tea after a day on the bike. The owner speaks fluent English and is very understanding of cyclists’ needs!
