Stay in Someshwar has it all: amazing quiet location, kind and generous hosts, clean rooms with all facilities. The location is superb: at the top of the stairs for the Dashashwamedh ghat and close to all of the action on the main road, which is filled with shops and restaurants. It’s only a one-minute walk to the evening aarti. Our hosts arranged a morning aarti boat ride, changed our money, provided a space heater when we were cold (it was January), and gave us plenty of recommendations. I fell ill while I was there and the brothers took me to their family doctor and I am so grateful. You’ll feel like part of the family yourself when you stay there—highly appreciated and recommended

This has been the best place I have stayed at in India so far. It's very clean, the area is super quiet and the staff is so kind. They helped me to get some medical help when I needed and catered to my needs to get better quickly. I felt like I was staying with family.

Maa Durga is one of a kind! Vishnu is one of the most genuine, caring, kind,inspiring, knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate humans we have ever met in India! Our room was perfect, we slept like babies, the water hot and pressure was awesome! Location is prime, right off the Ghats but still quiet enough to get all the rest you need! Vishnu is known for his delicious chai and heartfelt conversation! He knows everything and everyone in Varanasi and can help you plan and execute your adventures with a quickness.. He truly cares about his guests and genuinely wants the best for you! If you want to go on a real adventure ask him about his street food tour, so awesome!! Over all we loved our stay and will always choose Maa Durga and Vishna when we visit Varanasi!!! Thank you for everything!!!

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like family — warm smiles, genuine hospitality, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location couldn’t be better — right in the heart of Varanasi, just a short walk from the ghats and the Ganga. I loved waking up early and taking a peaceful stroll by the river. The rest house itself is clean, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. My room was comfortable, well-ventilated, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. What really stood out was the calm and homely atmosphere — a perfect escape from the busy streets outside. The rooftop view of the Ganges during sunrise was absolutely breathtaking, and the staff even helped arrange a boat ride that became one of the highlights of my trip.
