We had to stay an extra night in Ella on short notice, so booked this with less than 24 hours notice. Big nice and clean room. The owner and staff were very kind, she did some laundry for us. He let us check our luggage early as we were going out for the day. The breakfast was really big spread and delicious. It is a short walk to the main strip of Ella town and is in a very convenient location.

Very pleasant stay – the cottage was clean and well-equipped. The host was so kind and helpful, and having the option to rent a scooter was a great convenience. Breakfasts were truly delicious. Definitely worth recommending!

Saranga and his team were the perfect hosts for our five nights stay in Ella. They solved all our little issues (e.g. lack of water pressure) and arranged tours to Yala (safari), to a tea factory and also a shuttle to Negombo at the end of our stay. He even provided is own phone number so we can text or call him when we needed something. The issues some other reviewers wrote with toilet paper (no idea what kind of special problems they had...) or towels are not existent. Just talk to the staff, they will solve everything! Highly recommended also because it is very quite up there but you are either used to walking or use Tuk Tuks to go down to the city since it is quite a steep climb.

We stayed at the Moi Ella hotel over the weekend and simply enjoyed every moment. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is located in front of an amazing view and most importantly the hotel staff was courteous and attentive to our every request and each staff member was nicer than the other. A beautiful place with a unique view. Very helpful and kind staff. Our room was large with a comfy bedroom. The highlight was getting up at 6am to watch the sunrise (thanks to our manager for the tip!) In our opinion this seems like a much calmer, more beautiful place than the accommodation in the centre of Ella town. (The hotel is about 15 minutes drive south from the town centre, on the right road if you’re heading to the south coast afterwards.) Our dinner was excellent and the price was better than fair compared to other equivalent places.
