Rooms are clean and crisp and elegant. Breakfast is top notch . Staff are very friendly. Each room has private patio ovelooking the pool area. Quiet and sirene.

The attention to detail. A gorgeous architectural gem. And best host and hostess I've ever had. The food and room with a view was 5 star! Truly a memorable stay.

Everything about this place was splendid. First and foremost, the host was excellent—he couldn't do enough for me. An absolute gentleman. The place was very clean, with lovely decorations, and the veranda offered spectacular views of the mountains, where a delicious breakfast was served. I also sat there in the evening, and it was peaceful and amazing. The room was spacious, with everything I needed, including a mini-fridge, kettle, and coffee and tea. The bed was comfortable. The outdoor pool looked nice. The area is very safe and secure, with gated parking, and there are two beautiful dogs that rarely bark and are just so loving—well-trained and much better than any alarm system. I don’t say this lightly: I highly recommend this place. The host is friendly, social, and just a lovely person. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. One small thing: The Google Maps address will take you there, but it’s about 400 meters off. Google will tell you to turn right after passing the actual place. My advice is to follow Google but don’t turn right onto the uphill road. Just go back around the corner on the flat road where you came from, and you’ll see the white house set back behind the gates around 3 houses down from that corner street that google puts you on. The host is lovely and offers a wonderful breakfast. If you expect to arrive late or are delayed, please have the common courtesy to inform the host of your late arrival. If you wish to check out very early, requesting breakfast is disrespectful, especially after arriving late for whatever reason. It's important to be considerate and respectful of the host's time and efforts. It's nice to be nice, and when the host is a good person, it's important to show respect and thoughtfulness. Although the host is amazing and would accommodate everyone’s needs, don’t take the mickey. :)

We loved our stay at Appelsbosch. Great stop over on the way to the garden route from cape town. Very remote and private. It really is as good as the pictures! We spent most of the time sat enjoying the view and sounds of nature with a bottle of wine.

Amazing place, 10 points is too little for it! Great family mansion with family atmosphere - I felt at home while staying there. Owners offered home made jams and trout for breakfast, they have two amazing friendly dogs. There is a great pool and a perfect sitting area just to enjoy your Swellendham evening while having a slow talk with other travellers. Big room, fast wi-fi, warm welcome from the owners - exceptional place to stay!

The rooms are cozy and clean. The breakfast was excellent: strong coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a choice of delicious menu items. Exceptionally professional and pleasant staff. Owners were delightful and truly cared about our comfort and stay. I cannot say enough about the on-site restaurant. We travel all over the world and we found the restaurant to be world-class: beautiful presentation, creative dishes, excellent wine list, knowledgeable and professional service, and plentiful entree combinations.
