This is one of the most underrated stays in Johannesburg. Saying the facilities are beautiful is an understatement. The staff are friendly and kind. I wish I stayed longer, I would come back just for an extended stay here.

This is such a beautiful place. I would suggest staying at least two days. The kitchen is excellent, and the massages are great. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. It was amazing to feel truly welcomed, especially compared to all those big hotels. As a vegan, I was impressed by the variety of options available on their menu.

Staying at Houghton Place felt more like visiting far-away family than staying at a hotel abroad. It was absolutely marvelous: beautiful modern interior, lots of fresh air for morning yoga, delicious freshly-made breakfast, the kindest owner (thank you, Sam, I learned a lot from you) and... (an unexpected bonus~~) two cutest labradors! Getting from and to the airport felt safe and easy thanks to the meet-n-greet service offered by the Place (thank you, Siku). I can't think of a better way to start my South Africa journey~ Hope be back again some day!
