The location of the hotel is great to move around: walking distance from the old town and near some of the main transport hubs. The room was very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was good: not a lot of things, but everything was top quality, particularly the yogurts, bakery and cheese. Above all, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us during our stay in Basel.

The Hotel Alexander is located right at the Messe Basel fairgrounds and the Congress Center, a 7-minute ride from the center of Basel. The tram stop is right outside. Free Wi-Fi is available.

The single room and its bed are both pretty generously sized, comfortable, and immaculate. The staff at both reception and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. This will be home base when visiting Basel in the future.
