This family-run property with free Wi-Fi offers panoramic views of the city. Is was the perfect place to stay in Matera. The view outside the room was fantastic with a balcony that you can see all the Matera old city just across the Basilica . Best place for photos. The room we lived in was an old bakery inside a cave so you felt like living in old Matera ages.

All rooms have a view on the internal courtyard, where breakfast is served in summer. The staff were so welcoming and helpful- they made us feel at home and cared for. The rooms are amazing. This is the best place to stay in Matera.

Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. It offers a sun terrace and air-conditioned rooms with stone walls and views of the historical centre. Far Sassi was very clean, comfortable and in a great location.

All uniquely decorated with a mix of antique and modern furnishings, rooms here include a TV and floor heating.

Ridola Hotel was designed in 1872 by Leonardo Ridola, a famous local architect. It still has original vaults and pavements, and its façade features a solar clock from the 1900s. This hotel fit in directly on my personal favorite list! Everything was perfect! From the spacious and clean rooms to the kindness and availability of the staff! I was able to meet the owner's son Mattia who checked me in when I first arrived and I could say that I really felt at home with his hospitality. Special commendations also to Enza and Paola for the wonderful chit chats during breakfast in the mornings! Passionate and helpful staff always make a difference! I stayed here in December so I wasn't able to swim at the pool but I bet it's really something during summers!

The In Pietra is set in a converted monastery from the 13th century. Today it offers a large hall, a reading room and a wine cellar. Incredible views, the stone walls, the atmospheric breakfast/lobby area all lent to us having a memorable stay.

Situated in Matera, Casa Vetere is a historic apartment that features free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden and a bar. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a car rental service is also available. The place is in a very central place, you get to truly experience the old town of Matera, and once you learn how to navigate in the area (not an easy task...) you find out it is in 5-min walking distance from many of the interesting places to see.

A sweet and savoury breakfast is offered daily and is served in a converted cave. Breakfast includes hot drinks, croissants, cheese and cold meats. Very nice room, clean and in an excellent and convenient location!

L'Arturo B&B offers modern-style rooms in central Matera, 50 metres from its Cathedral. Free WiFi is provided in the entire building.

Air-conditioned rooms all feature a flat-screen satellite TV, a seating area and fully fitted private bathroom with a shower. Amazing place, just as shown in the pictures. Super convenient location and is actually inside the old town area. I don't always go for the breakfast in hotels but the one served by Monica was great. Overall, 10/10.
