We came on a Friday evening and the pub/restaurant filled with a lively crowd of young and old, enjoying a good chat, the tasty food, playing darts...interaction was easy and we had fun playing Pool. Good parking, rooms were very clean, great beds, good shower, very nice breakfast, and we got a wealth of useful information on what to do in the region. Forgot an item in our room - it was kept safe until we went back a week later and could pick it up!

They also thought of the little things that really make a big difference to creating a lovely experience/stay. If I'm back in Merthyr Tydfil, I'll book here again. Next time I may hire a car though, so I can get to Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley for hiking. Because I only had a couple days, and taking public transport takes much longer, I unfortunately missed out on the hiking that one can do around this area

The Mirador truly is a 21st century Boutique Town House with every room designed with both couples in mind, including mums & dads and corporate clients who want to stay somewhere that’s both fun and interesting, a step outside the normal corporate hotel. It was exactly as it said in the advert. Totally different experience and was a great way to end our holiday. Everyone should stay in a place that is different like this at least once in their lives. Go on, Spoil yourself.

This former coaching inn is set on the edge of Brecon Beacons, in the historic market town of Abergavenny. The Angel Hotel offers a restaurant, bar, and free Wi-Fi. Abergavenny‎ Railway Station is 10 minutes’ walk away. I loved the vibe in this hotel. Very characteristic but also modern comforts. Lots of activity in the bars and restaurants. Very lively. Beautiful spacious room. Friendly people. I loved the restaurant. We had the best meal of our trip to Wales here. Breakfast was outstanding. Great table service, drink top ups. Loved the hospitality. The town is lovely as well. Parking lot behind the hotel.
