We had a great stay at the house, would highly recommend! The rooms were great, with a very relaxing pool and amazing restaurant. There isn't loads to do in the surrounding towns, but a lovely stop between the garden route and worth the detour.

Such a nice, relaxed place. Great big rooms with comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Patrick is the best host! He even offered to make dinner and gave me a lift to start a hike in the Marloth Reserve. Breakfast was great too! Definitly recommend staying in this lovely place :-)

We absolutely loved staying at Riverbed Guesthouse! The room + bath are spacious, super clean, stylish and comfy. We really appreciated the little details e.g. the coffee machine incl. milk frother. The garden is awesome with a nice pool, a little stream in the back and a beautiful view on the mountains. Further, the owners were super friendly - we immediately felt welcome and at home. Quiet location close to the mountains and walking trails. Stayed in beautiful room leading onto a balcony. Breakfast was superb. (I heartily recommend the smoked trout and scrambled eggs!) The owner Reinet is an interesting lady and excellent host. Loved my stay here and will definitely be back!

Swellendam is a stunning town.

Swellendam is a stunning town. All the comforts you need are there and at the same time you can get away into the mountains and outer areas. There are good restaurants and coffee shops and great activities around the area. Mountain biking is what I would go for, but our stay was too short. Lots of history and my family and I were surprised at what this town had to offer. We normally just drive past, but was great to stay over.

A beautiful little town with a lot to see, do and eat. The restaurants are top notch. We ate at De Vagebond for Supper their food was fantastic with great and friendly service, then we had breakfast at La Belle Alliance their view, food and service were tops. We also had a breakfast at Aan de Eike Guest House, it is a beautiful modern restaurant with lekker food and friendly service. The town is so clean and absolutely beautiful. We love going there. Activities for big and small go to the Fairy Garden. Swellendam is definitely a town to visit!

The town was a 30 minute pleasant walk had various restaurants& fast food places We booked De Vagerbond restaurant a really nice meal I had ostrich steak it was delicious. The staff very friendly I would definitely recommend. There is a big pick & paystore petrol station and a few clothes shops. Has a flea market on a Saturday.

Lots of people use this as a one night stop to break their journeys. That is fine, but I would honestly stay an extra night if you are not in a rush. Great place to relax and enjoy their excellent food and hospitality.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with 6 bedrooms in the middle of Swellendam, which is a little gem. Run by husband and wife. The bedrooms were a good size and had everything you would need and very clean. There is a pool for the guests to use, which was very close to the rooms. We had a tasting menue for Valentines night and I must say the food and wines were excellent and certainly value for money. The staff were very friendly and the attention to detail of everything in our stay was excellent.

A very nice stay. Huge room, delicious food and beautiful surroundings. Great location between Robertson and Swellendam. I was there for the second time. One person on staff deserves special mention. On both visits she was wonderful to the guests and from my point of view she is the soul of the hotel: Leandra. You can only feel comfortable with her.
