Everything. Helene, the hostess, is a wonderfully bubbly lovely lady running one hell of a nice property..it's neat and tidy. It's clean and well maintained and OMG Helene's breakfast omelette makes the stuff turned out by these wussy Michelin starred chefs look like amateur offerings. Stay there and feel the love. We didnt have the chance to stay here, sadly we were trapped in Cape Agulhas with a huge storm, and when we got out this hotel was isolated from both sides. The didnt put any problem refunding us as soon as the could. We will definetely come back to stay.

This is our second visit to Sol Y Sombre. Annette's place is super well equipped for a very good and enjoyable stay. She even has lightbulbs that light up with loadshedding and often has the internet working as well. The place is very close to a beautiful beach and many hiking trails. Defintely a place to return to.

Excellent location, a short distance from the road, but at the same time quiet. The hotel is well-designed. Individual rooms have separate accesses from both sides - from the terrace and from the pool. High quality of services and cleanliness in the rooms. Katharina is an admirable woman, very hospitable. She booked us a restaurant in Pringle bay for dinner, which was another great experience. We travelled as a group of 11 friends for 2 weeks on bikes around the Cape Western and this was the place with the best service.

What a great place! The house is really well styled and all rooms are very nice. Great views and some nice animals (turtoise, mangoose) in the yard. The owner showed great hospitality to us! A real recommendation!

We had a fantastic family weekend at the Dune House—ideal family home! 🏖️ The location is ideal, just a short walk to the beach and to the shops and restaurants. The whole home is very well equipped, beautiful and clean. We enjoyed our stay at The Dunes. Thanks

    Beautiful venue with beautiful views. Ian, Piet & Petro, the hosts are lovely and kind people, they became our friends. Would definitely recommend staying here, thank you. Rooiels is a very clean, safe and quiet little town, we loved the peace and quiet of the surrounds.

    A fabulous cottage at a fabulous location... wildlife...

    A fabulous cottage at a fabulous location... wildlife everywhere, perfect for the birdwatcher or photographer, flowers in the fynbos are wonderful too. Great hosts who are easy to communicate with if needs be... would definitely choose this town and cottage if ever back in The Western Cape

    I liked that Rooi Els is off the beaten track, yet so close...

    I liked that Rooi Els is off the beaten track, yet so close to the city. It’s a small community of people who smile and wave at a stranger when he drives past. At night the nearby waves soothe your city blues away.
