I Lived there for 18 years and had wonderfull childhood memories, but now the roads are very bad and basically offer you only 1 option to travel there and that is via Standerton, ant mostly with a SUV due to the amount of potholes on the road, that is not getting fixed.... The roads are in terrible shape with potholes everywhere. Travel in a 4X4 to avoid costly damages on your car. I am sure the council at Newcastle will give the usual excuses like they have no money in their budget to fix the roads. The location is fine but for people who are not familiar with Newcastle it can be a challenge,they can easily get lost,especially at night and there are no notice boards of the hotel nearby.
