If you are looking to do some muay Thai in Koh Phangan, this is a great place to stay as it was a couple of good gyms. There's also a good selection of bars, cafes and restaurants in the area, and it's walking distance from the pier. This hotel is not a party place.
This hotel is not a party place. It is for relaxation and serenity. The town is a 10 to 15 minutes walk. The pier, 7/11, bakery and many bars and restaurants. Tons of scooters which are basically the only mean of transportation if you don’t want to walk. A nice night market open nightly with good food and souvenirs. After being in Koh Samui for over a month as older people we enjoyed Thongsala because of the ease of walking to town. If you like to shop you will find hundreds of typical beach shopping. The town itself is surprisingly quite big. Definitely on top of our list for favorite beach town.Guest review byHuguette

I was very happy that I found a room near Thongsala Pier at a reasonable price on 1st January. From Panthip Market it is only a short walk (about 5 minutes), from the city center about 10 minutes walk This Hotel is cozy and quiet, it has a small pool for refreshment and offers coffe/tee in the morning. They other complimentary clean drinking water. Nice quality towels. The hostel dorm was clean but the shower rooms not so much. There is a terrace on the top floor which would look really nice if they did some work on it. Good location for the Thong Sala pier and beaches.
