Perfect location, very nice and clean apartment! When I say clean, it is top notch clean!! I have read in some reviews that breakfast was not really good, well it was very very good!! Big up to the receptionists, to the cleaning ladies, the ladies preparing the breakfast because the service was impeccable. We would definitely come back, thank you!

We stayed in probably one of the largest suits as we were travelling with our little one. The room was really spacious with a living room attached to it. The breakfast was really good. My daughter definitely enjoyed the omlette. We loved the variety of the options in the breakfast. The lady at the desk is very helpful and polite. Also, room was very clean.

This was our second stay at this hotel and it's still great! We arrived late in the day and were met at the front desk by a lovely, welcoming lady who checked us in quick. We think she changed our room from what we originally had--not many guests were staying at the hotel before Christmas and extra pillows we requested weren't there on the bed. However, when we told her on our way to dinner she quickly fulfilled our request! The room was very large. Window opened to let in fresh air. Bed was comfortable with great pillows. The bathroom was huge with a great shower with good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast was great with lots of different items. Eggs on request. This hotel is right next to a tram stop and it's an easy walk to all the main sites. We would definitely stay here again!

Bratislava is a lovely city and the Radisson Carlton is an excellent place to stay. The hotel is historic and it is located so that one side overlooks one of the main pedestrians thoroughfares (Hviezdoslav Park), which include fountains, sculptures, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Our room was on that side of the building and included sights of St. Martin’s Church, the Castle, the Opera House, St. Michael’s Gate, and more. Bratislava is a very green city, where trees infuse many parts of the old town and outdoor patios are even build around the trees. You can take it all in from your window. The hotel is very elegant, with a large foyer with fresh cut flowers in the center. There was infused water in the lobby for guests, along with apples and menthol candies (which were nice for the weary traveler). The front desk was helpful at locating classic Slovak Restaurants (Flagship and Koliba Kamzík Zelená, we highly recommend both). The Savoy Restaurant is connected to the hotel and it is also where breakfast is served. The Mirror cocktail bar is also part of the hotel (and is listed as one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the world). Interesting historic photographs decorate the walls and adds to its charm. From the hotel you can walk anywhere in the old town as well as the river walk that leads to their huge modern shopping center. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the windows opened for fresh air to lovely green Bratislava. The room had a kettle with tea, instant coffee (regular and decaf were both very good), and hot cocoa. The bathroom had a tub with good water pressure. The polished black tile floors were cool. The breakfast was fantastic - fresh fish, meats, cheeses, breads, eggs. They also had a wonderful fresh blueberry smoothie and along with other juice options they had beetroot juice (its so nice when hotels are unique and have character)!! We will definitely return to Bratislava and to Radisson Blu Carlton.

FAQs about hotels in Bratislava

Capital With a Small Town Feel

Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.

Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.

The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.

Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

I would prefer to go first to Bratislava instead to Prague.

I would prefer to go first to Bratislava instead to Prague. Because Prague was wonderful city and gently saved it, old outside and modern inside. Otherwise, Bratislava was nice city but it was a little wierd for me to see old damaged walls, and some graffitis around, close to nice old places, historical monuments, beautiful views to the Danube, and Nazi destruction and sadness episodes. Mix of senses, mix of views.

Beautiful place on the river Danube with the crossing to Austria. Cleanliness of the city and views are exceptional. Local food and drinks available on historical streets and squares. Warm climate in autumn and hot in Summer give city feel of summer holidays destinations. Short ride to the airport or 25 mins by shuttle bus for €1.20 cannot beat any other city. We return to city once a year.

A unique and interesting, well preserved old city gives the visitor plenty to explore. It’s a very walkable location and meticulously clean. Information signs often include English versions. The locals we met were helpful and friendly. We ate at the Farmhouse restaurant opposite our apartment because their menu was the most diverse and interesting one we found. I highly recommend Bratislava. It reminded me of Split in Croatia.

This city has its charm but is small. 2-3 days on foot with a semi full schedule and you can see most of the sites. Taxis are cheap almost everything is walk-able distance and the best thing it is cheap. Lots of nice architecture, old soviet style buildings. The Devin castle ruins was a really nice place on a nice sunny day and the UFO tower on top pf the bridge I would recommend because you get some awesome views of the city and castle.

The hotel building is historical. I dont like modern archichture so loved it. The area is excellent. Blue Church is 5 minutes walk. Also, streets around the hotel is so green and so many nice buildings. Very good cafes and bakerys which you can go anytime. You can also walk Danube for about 20 minutes and Old Town 15 minutes. The staff young and friendly. The room was small but clean, cosy and so quiet. Bratislava is great city and underrated in Europe. I ll go again and missed already.

Lots of room, had everything you would need for a longer stay, great location close to the old town centre, shops, the presidential palace and close to the UFO observation deck, good transport links for trips also outside of Bratislava e.g. Vienna or Brno. The apartments also have balconies with an ashtray so you don't have to go through the whole hotel just to smoke. We got an upgrade from a studio to a standard apartment and it was very roomy, lots of space and very comfy.
