We spent the day driving down from Lisbon and so didn't spend any time in the town of Carrapateira itself. But the next morning, we really enjoyed the various hiking trails and scenic overview spots accessible from Carrapateira via the perimeter road (E. da Praia), which starts with great views of and trails to Praia da Bordeira and then winds along the coast's edge for about 10 km. It is a small village in the end of continent, we just love that this IS NOT hot touristic spot. Yes, you'll find find restaurants in and around, wide beach with small bar on it.
