Aveiro is a great place with plenty to see and do. Many lovely places to eat and drink. We stayed for 10 days but I think 7 would have been enough. Must not miss a visit to Costa Nova with the gorgeous coloured houses, also a boat ride is a must. Aveiro is a pleasant town with a nice canal running through the middle. A guided boat tour is reasonably priced and worth doing. It is a short drive Nazare but my GPS could not find the location. Very clean and friendly city. Never felt rushed or crowded. Loads of places to eat and/or drink. Not expensive either. Easy to walk around. Close to the coast, Costa Nova is a village that is part of Aveiro. Would pay extra for taxis to and from Porto airport unless travelling individually, as a couple or group of no more than 4, then cheaper by metro and train.Guest review byAnonymous - 10
We loved Aveiro.
We loved Aveiro. We spent 3 days and it was the perfect amount of time to see everything. We would recommend the tuk tuk rides. We had a super college student guide and he was fantastic with our 10 year olds. We loved all the little restaurants, very high quality food, fantastic atmosphere.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Aveiro is beautiful, relaxing place, great atmosphere. You should also visit Costa Nova if you have the chance since Aveiro is quite small and could be done in one day. Don’t miss out the boats on the canal, it is a good ride.Guest review byCarmenSpain

He even gave us a larger room because we were travelling with a small child. The hotel itself is very warm and cozy. It is not the newest, but very well maintained and clean. We visited during the weekend so the street parking was free and it was easy to find a parking spot next to the hotel. And this was just a one night stop for us on a trip around portugal, and we really enjoyed staying in Aveiro as it has very small, clean and beautiful old town.Guest review byVytautasLithuania
