Everything, from start to finish. The staff were amazing, and very helpful and friendly. Our accomodation was spotlessly clean. Everything was excellent, except the Centennial Golf club pro on the morning of Sat 25th Oct. He did not listen . We had prebooked 2 weeks prior as a group of 5, which was confirmed at the time of booking then again on the day by the lady in the proshop.(no mention of not being able to play as a 5!) We were halfway through the first 9 holes and suddenly a man appeared introducing himself as the pro, and he was approaching us to tell us we were actually breaking protocol by playing in a group of 5. I tried to explain we had prebooked and confirmed 2 weeks ago as a 5 and then an hour ago registered at the proshop as a group of 5, and nothing was advised at that time, she gladly took our $300.00 with no mention of protocol! Just a heads up to the pro on the day. If you are going to enforce any protocol, then make sure you and your staff are all on the same page and your paying guests are advised at the time of booking. This will save any further embarrassing situations for you (the pro) and your club staff. It will also help your guests to have a less stressful experience knowing they have been fully informed of any local club rules

Taupo is much better visited outside of the busy periods (...

Taupo is much better visited outside of the busy periods (school holidays). When there's less traffic and you can get around without issue and finding a carpark is more likely. So much to see and do and many amazing restaurants. Wairakei is also only up the road and there are many geothermal attractions within a short driving distance.

Lots to do and plenty of cafes did not get in the outdoors much due to the weather but are coming back and expect to do some walks and cycling. Size of town means you can get what ever you need and there are number of different shops to find something different.

Not having a car meant I couldn't go outwith Taupo.

Not having a car meant I couldn't go outwith Taupo. The boat trip to see rhe Rock Carvings was well worth it. Haka Falls was walk able but due to the heavy rain I couldn't do it. The amount and choice of restaurants was amazing fir the size of Taupo and all value fir money.

A restaurant we often eat at had gone to the dogs to busy trying to fill al their tables and not concentrating on quality food. On the other hand the vinery is the place to eat diverse menu and small plates to choose excellent food there

Nice sized room, with great bathroom with spa. Also a coffee maker with pods. Lovely bar area with comfortable lounges with a wonderful view of lake Taupo. The bar staff very helpful and friendly with complimentary prezetels. Free parking onsite also.

The hotel is well positioned in Taupo. The facilities are great and staff very attentive. The resturant catered well for us as a family. Although we didn’t have our dog with us, it was lovely to see others with their pets staying at the hotel.
