We loved staying at this unique spot in the jungle. The rooms were so clean and well kept and the large windows look out onto the canary with the sound of the ocean just beyond the trees. We were here during the offseason so there was not much in the way of kayaking or tour activities but we still enjoyed hiking and walking to the nearby cultural center. We saw monkeys every day and lots of birds and a monitor lizard. If the jungle pool doesn’t suit you the beaches are close and so beautiful! The staff was very wonderful at both the reception and the restaurant. We had an AC issue one day and they responded immediately to help us be comfortable. This is a rustic location that despite its remoteness and jungle setting is clean, safe and comfortable. Highly recommend

Swampy beach for exploration. It is nice to look at wild life. Not a swimming beach but mangrove. Fun if you like a hike through to the flat beach. Beautiful sunset view. Cocoon tent rooms are interesting. Adequate room facilities but no safe. Dining area has mosquitoes.

Exceptional view of the South China Sea. Beautiful sunset and priceless memories! Very spacious & well furnished apartment. Clean and comfortable with all necessary amenities. Bonus is 4000+ movies. The host is very friendly and thoughtful. He even bought a huge bottle of drinking water for us. My 2 teenagers were asking to stay for more days!!!

Our visit to Santubong was a peaceful escape into nature’s beauty. Surrounded by lush green hills and set against the South China Sea, the area offers breathtaking views—especially during sunset at Damai Beach. The calm waves, golden skies, and majestic silhouette of Mount Santubong made it a perfect spot for reflection and photography. While we enjoyed the stunning scenery and relaxing atmosphere, some parts of the beach and resort surroundings could benefit from better maintenance to preserve the natural charm. Still, Santubong remains a wonderful destination for those who appreciate quiet moments, nature, and beautiful coastal landscapes.

Breakfast selection was very limited and the time taken for replenishment was slow. The pool facilities overall was as what we expected (decent), but we had a very unpleasant experience with the team building group that were present. There was loud techno music being played by the pool reception staff and when I approached him to request for him to either change the music or tone down the volume, he informed me that the music was requested by the other guests. I was later informed by the staff concerned that he did not have a choice but to honor the guests requests (which is totally understandable), but what made it a total turn off was the fact that the management did not put conditions on these types of guests requests which potentially disrupts the peace and serenity. I could go elsewhere if I'm being a "Karen" about this feedback, but it's my honest review. Apart from the crappy techno / rave music that was blasting from the pool area and the poor selection of breakfast, I'd give 4 stars for the service/ hospitality by the staff in general.

Nice place for the location, beach & mountain.

Nice place for the location, beach & mountain. Breakfast & other meals can be improved ~ however we should give management grace period post lockdown. Please improve the wifi - it can’t be used. Visit Cultural Village- it is within walking distance & nicely set up.

Perfect little gem, we would go back anytime, the owners are so friendly and helpful, the outside area is amazing, you see monkeys from the terrace almost every day. We loved this place! Make sure you hire a car from Kuching, not only to get to Nanga Damai but also to explore the area, it's worth it and driving is easy, not much traffic at all. If you are fit and like hiking, Mount Santubong is waiting for you :) and the "Blue Pool" is a nice loop, as well. Kuching Wetlands by boat is fun and there's a lot more! ENJOY

The Village House is by far the best option to stay in the Sarawak Kuching area. The village House offers roomy comfortable rooms and beds, super friendly staff who will do anything to satisfy your needs, quality breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The pool is clean and a drawcard for the guests to relax, swim and lounge. The village house also offers tours to see the beauty of Sarawak, such as rare protected animals, caves, and natural parks. Pure tranquility and the cultural Village nearby was great. Nice beach bar lovely staff. They sold real wine. I was volunteering in the jungle with Orangutans and sun bears so this break was sheer bliss. My room was lovely as was my balcony. Bit far from my main hotel but excellent hotel bus service and you can walk downhill to resort by stairs easily.

The location is great as well as the surrounding nature. The beach, monkeys and many other animals are right at your doorsteps. Even though you are immersed in nature, there is supermarket and food court in walking distance and the resort is easily reached from Kuching. Sleeping in the treehouse definitely is an amazing experience!
