As a family with tweens we did not enjoy Tulum & will not be back. The kids were not allowed many places/ restaurants. Algea covered the beach (it was july), the restaurants were priced higher than where we live but the quality of the food was poor. If you are a family I would skip and go elsewhere. Tulum is a city you'd have to explore more, especially with car access which we didn't have. Things could get expensive fast with the transportation, souvenir shops, and cafes that cater to tourists. I spent $35 USD on brunch, which wasn't a lot or filling at all. Yet you turn the corner, and a birria taqueria fills you up for only $16 USD. Tulum south is good, friendly and helpful people . It didn’t seem right to pay to visit paradise beech. No clear guidelines to visit beeches via resorts. We were charmed by it's looks at night. It's in great location close to the archeological zone and beaches, about 10-15 min. by walking and just around 3 km from center. Just across the road is a shuttle bus stop and you can also rent bikes. Staff were super friendly and helped us a lot. Especially Kevin, amazing guy, who made our stay even more special.
