Our room was huge and very comfortable. Rosita and her daughter were great hosts and cooked us a wonderful breakfast. Warmly recommended!

United StatesAmazing property. So peaceful and relaxing. Luis(Rex) was very friendly, helpful and resourceful. He recommend us a tour guide for Uxmal and we love this tour because it was very informative. All staff in hotel is friendly and helpful. We wish to stay a couple of days more in this wonderful hotel. A breakfast was amazing!!! Hope we to visit this place in future again.

I did not visit the town of Santa Elena but stayed at the Pickled Onions Hotel as a base to visit the nearby ruins of Uxmal. I loved the hammock on the porch! Breakfast was good. Dinner is served there but the menu is quite limited. Because the hotel is "off the grid" there is no AC, and you can't use a hair dryer. Not a complaint, just be aware. The fan overhead was enough for sleeping. The grounds are very interesting, worth a walk around. We found it a pleasant alternative to staying in town. The whole site has been very carefully designed with a beautiful pool area and cute individual huts. Aircon worked well and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast included was tasty too.
