This homestay is run by a very kind and welcoming family -- they were the highlight for sure! We had a great time staying here for a few nights to do some hiking in Horton Plains National Park. This homestay is in a beautiful location (about 25-30 min drive from the national park's Ohiya entrance), and furnished well. The room is spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food was AMAZING! We enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back!

Beautiful location with the most amazing view! The staff were very helpful and we had nice lunch and dinner. Beautiful area to walk! They arranged tuktuk transport for us to Horton plains at 6am in the morning. Definetely recommendable stay!

Really cozy homestay, with all the necessary amenities (heater, laundry services etc.) and meals provided are really good. The host was really friendly and even offered to use the iron to quick dry my pants after laundry as it could not dry in time!

The property is hidden away and beautifully secluded. It is small and very exclusive. It felt like a VIP experience. The staff were exceptional and took very good care of us throughout our stay. Not only were the staff very friendly, we felt like we were their only priority. Would highly recommend this property.

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking 24 hectares of tea plantation, surrounded by luscious mountains. It is the perfect combination of peace and isolation amidst a breathtaking scenery. We chose Meena Amma's Tea Experience because we wanted to have a closer and more genuine experience with locals, and because we wanted an accommodation close to the hiking trails of the Hortons Plains. Meena was such an amazing host. She took care of us in the best way possible. She walked with us to show us the surroundings, explained to us useful tips on Sri Lankan cuisine, and cooked for us the best and most authentic meals we had in Sri Lanka. Although, we thought that her cooking was amazing, it was a little bit salty for our taste buds. The room was nicely decorated and has the convenience of a nearly a 5* standard. Highly recommended accommodation in a strategic location close to Nuwara Eliya and Horton Plains. Just beware of the entrance road to the village is not asphalted!

Mahamed and Fatima are the most wonderful hosts, and there is no doubt they enjoy having guests, and want their guests to be as comfortable as possible. They made our stay truly memorable, and I wish we had time to stay longer. I will for sure be back, this place comes highly recommended from me! Surroundings are gorgeous, hiking on every corner, it's quiet and calm, and you will eat like a queen with Fatima's food (she should have a restaurant). I haven't eaten that well in all of Sri Lanka, and it's been my most pleasant stay. If you are into nature, mental relaxation, great food, and slowing down a bit, do make sure to book at least two/three nights with them, and just enjoy!

    Almost everything.

    Almost everything. Location was close to Horton Plains and the owners arranged a tuk tuk ride for a nominal fee. Lovely surrounding. Food was tasty and ample given. Really worth it. Owners were friendly and made the guests feel at home.

    Even though the communication with the host was a bit difficult, he really tried it's best to make it as comfortable for us as possible. Keep in mind that the place is quite far away from everything, so don't expect any miracles or fancy hotel-suff for this budget. We really enjoyed the place and would have stayed longer if we had the time (and a different internet-provider).

    For a simple authentic experience with great management and service you should stay here. Food is cooked fresh and the manager is lovely. We stayed a night and had dinner, breakfast and lunch. Rooms are simple but with a hot shower and very quiet. The other hotels near charge a lot but seem to have less soul!

    Amazing stay- thoroughly recommend to all. Beautiful location with the most incredible view. Amazing hikes straight out the door- staff able to explain all the routes so no need to pay for a guide. Delicious food - all meals provided including pack lunches for hiking. Lovely comfortable rooms.

    Breakfast was good as was their fried chicken for dinner, came sizzling on a platter. Staff incredibly helpful. Helped me arrange a jeep transfer for me and my bicycle at very little notice. Great views of the valley and mountains. Good size rooms, very clean.
