I had a fantastic stay at this villa in Dellawa. The location is serene and surrounded by nature, offering a truly relaxing escape. One of the highlights was kayaking—such a peaceful way to take in the surroundings. The environment overall is calm and quiet, perfect for unwinding. The food was another big plus—delicious, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a peaceful retreat with a touch of adventure!

Best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka in terms of overall experience (great hosts & fairytale location). Food provided was very delicious, with great variety. The Sinharaja forest tour was also a very good experience, our guide (the owner of the Nest) being very knowleadgeble of what is going on in the forest (he spotted a lot of birds/animals and told us a lot about their behavior). All in all we just recommend this place by our hearts. A big thank you for the hosts!

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

Amazing location in green area. We spotted several animals while just sitting on the balcony (including monkeys, peacocks and kingfisher). The owners are very friendly and helpful, they made our stay very comfortable.

The Location is very beautiful, situated in the jungle in a small village. The family was incredibly kind and made our stay feel like home. We had delicious homemade, traditional dinner and breakfast. The house is close to the entrance to Sinharaja Forest and they recommended us a great Guide who spotted lots of animals and showed us many ayurverdic healing plants. I can‘t recommend this place enough :)

We arrived very late at this magical place which was very close to the park entrance and they cooked us dinner, everything was delicious and the family was truly welcoming. The cleanest house we've found so far and an atmosphere that makes you feel at home.

The streak of perfect reviews seemed too good to be true - but make no mistake, this is one of the best homestays I’ve experienced in years. Location: Perfect, right in nature’s heart. Apartment: Beautifully built and spotlessly clean. Food: Some of the best I had in 4 weeks across Sri Lanka. Price: the price of the whole package is unmatched in the area. Don’t worry about the lack of nearby restaurants or supermarkets - you won’t need them. Staying here feels like being at your favorite family members, where every meal is a highlight. Prabath and his family treat hosting not just as a business but as their passion. Every morning, I woke up excited for the day ahead, with Prabath sharing his favorite hiking trails and passing down his family’s deep local knowledge. From the moment you arrive, they make you feel like an old friend. For three days, I was part of the village - Prabath’s friends became my friends. But don’t worry: your privacy remains their top priority. This is the definition of a hardworking family who takes genuine pride in sharing their home and heritage with guests. They put their heart into making your stay special. I'm leaving truly happy, with their kindness carved into my memory. If you're reading this, don't hesitate - this is a stay you'll treasure. The cabin is in the heart of the forest and among tea plantations. To reach the cabin you have to cross two small creeks where you can also enjoy the natural pools. The cabin is very clean with a comfortable bed, there I also an outside patio where dinner and breakfast are served. There is electricity thanks to a solar panel. Ravindra is a very kind and attentive host. He will help you with your backpacks and will bring your meals to the cabin. He also organises tour of the forest and accompany you to the forest with his tuk tuk. We asked for dinner and breakfast and both meals were very good and with large portions both prepared by Ravindra's mother. Both during the day and night you can see a lot of birds and other animals around the cabin. Definitely one of the best experiences in our trip to Sri Lanka.
