We stayed here on our way to Ella whilst on a cycle tour. We had an exceptionally warm welcome and were given a fabulous meal in the evening - the best food we’ve had in Sri Lanka (and there’s been plenty!). It’s a lovely peaceful spot and there was plenty of wildlife to see from the terrace.

Very friendly staff, a unique spot in the upper hills with a breathtaking view, tasty food, a variety of activities available. The activity we did with Eranda was outstanding. He knows everything about the nature and animals around, he was attentive and made sure that we were happy during our whole stay. The jeep ride to the hotel is extra special!!!

This place is like heaven on earth. Situated on the edge of a cliff. It's like living above clouds. Most spectacular view. View from infinity pool is priceless. rooms are very clean. The food was delicious. Staff was very and welcoming to make your stay feel like you are home. I recommend this hotel to everyone (couples or family). I would definitely go back.

This b&b is managed by Dilshan and gentle Piyumi and their family. They manage the place with charme and love and you feel to be home as soon as you step inside. They are ready to offer suggestions for sightseeing with a local expert. I was amazed seeing a few European customers that keep coming back to the Guest House. When I left I realized why. The room we had was spacious and had a terrace with view. Topically Sri Lankian style decorated. A large bathroom with shower and morning breakfast with local traditional food. WiFi was available and good. Do not expect luxury’s, but attention and love is guaranteed.

We had a fantastic stay – this is SUCH a lovely place. The rooms a lovely – sparkling clean, comfortable and the views from the various terraces are astounding. We received a warm welcome from the couple who own and run the place, we loved the relaxed atmosphere and felt very much at home. The owner speaks good English and knows all there is about the area and will help you with your plans. We really loved being here, and in Haputale, which was a lovely, calm alternative to Ella. We recommend this place without hesitation and will come back to stay if we do get the chance – I hope we will 😊

I've been staying at Awinco every time I visit Haputale for the past 7 or so years. The rooms are very clean and super comfortable, and I think the view from the balcony is one of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. I've gotten to know the family that owns Awinco well, and they are friendly and knowledgable and make a great rice and curry! They can also help you organize day tours to most of the must-see sights in the mountains for a very fair price. If you want to do something less touristy than Ella, I suggest staying here in Haputale and having Awinco book a day trip or two to visit Ella, Hortons Plains, Lipton's seat, and some of the other sights. The hotel is also within walking distance of town and the train station. Overall, just a great experience and I wouldn't (and haven't!) stayed anywhere else (=
