Villa di Arceno is aA wonderful place in the heart of the Chianti region. I recommend the restaurant La Botega 30 in Villa a Sesta, the pizzeria La Morina in Castelnuovo Berardenga, the beautiful castles - wineries: Castello di Brolio and Castelo di Meleto. Villa di Arceno is a great starting point for trips to Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino, the abbeys of Sants Antima and San Gusme, Cortona and many other beautiful places in Tuscany and Umbria. Merita and Tani who serviced the apartments and pool were very lovely and kind people. The place is very beautiful BUT YOU MUST have a car. This was not explained on the site or in emails before. Tani helped us get one thankfully. The host was over attentive as she made comments about lights left on over night and why didn’t we bring cleaning items and a little rude about a couple of other things. It may have been the language barrier but we were left feeling awkward by these interactions that slightly tarnished a beautiful place.
