I had the most magical stay at the Hotel. The staff were amazing and the breakfast on the terrace with views over the lake was special. I especially loved that the bar was open to hotel users only after a certain time. It made the atmosphere very tranquil. The discount at the restaurant for guests was also appreciated. Swimming from the pontoon in the lake was really special and the location was unbeatable.

The owners were lovely and let us leave our bags early, made sure we had everything we needed (including some beautiful dried lavender from the garden on departure) and provided a delicious breakfast with a surprising amount of choice. The shower was nice and the bed was nice and spacious. Good for the price!

This place is a little slice of heaven! Perfectly located in the heart of Varenna only a minute from the main square, the view from the main living area and bedroom looks out over the lake. We had the pleasure of watching a storm being born while we had our breakfast, the thunder and lightning a dramatic respite to the sunshine and heat. The apartment has everything to be comfortable and is full of character in the antiques and artwork used to furnish it. The bed is very comfortable and the air conditioning dreamy! Though we also found that opening windows for an evening breeze also kept us cool while we enjoyed the views. And the shower! I have never seen so many options on how to stay cool and clean. Pick a body part, this shower has an option to clean it. It can even give you a jet massage for your neck or clean your feet after a day of exploring the local botanical gardens. We only used the kitchen once, as there are so many lovely options to eat out in town, but it had everything we needed to cook a meal for two. Clean, comfortable, perfectly situated, and managed by an approachable, kind and communicative host, I recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Varenna.

A review of Varenna requires a disclosure of the overall trip strategy. We stayed in Varenna knowing that we would take trips across the lake to the closest sites of interest. This was a stop on our way to Venice. It was a great introduction to the area. A longer stay would likely need take into consideration other activities and specific areas of interest.

We stayed at the Varrena house for three nights.

We stayed at the Varrena house for three nights. The location was perfect. We could walk to everywhere. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset and villas nearby. We party view of the lake was very beautiful. This unit has two bedrooms which are clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive and helpful. They helped us get a car service to pick us up and drop us off at Milan with very reasonable pricing. We requested for extra soap and laundry detergent and toilet paper. They immediately sent us the items we requested.

Lovely town. the people were very friendly.

Lovely town. the people were very friendly. We needed the Pharmacia for a few family members and they were fantastic. The restaurants were clean and food was good. The walkways down to the waterfront need to have more railings. The ferry boat was a fun adventure. The church was beautiful. I miss the church bells already:)

Extremely beautiful village very clean, even in middle of July, it did not feel overcrowded, easy walk to all attractions, Villa Monastero gardens is a must. Enjoyed, 4hrs in Billagio for sightseeing and shopping although very crowded. Side trip via bus to the gorge in Bellano was a highlight. Note: This was our 60th wedding anniv.

Varenna was extremely safe, beautiful and not too crowded the last week of July. Everything that you needed from groceries, fruit, baked goods, breakfast, lunch and dinner were all withing steps of each other. If you are looking for a "shopping" experience, this town is not for you, but if you are looking for a low key, relaxing, and beautiful place on Lake Como, Varenna is for you.

Location is brilliant, very convenient for the train and the ferries to the other towns around Lake Como. The walk to the centre of town isn't too far either and you can walk by the lakeside to get there. Host is great and had helpful communication prior to our stay. They went the extra mile to help make our stay special as well. The kitchen is well equipped and the terrace is lovely on a sunny day with a lovely view of the lake! Overall the property feels clean, modern and comfortable for a stay in Varenna.

Hotel was ideally located. A short 5min walk from the train, a 10min walk to Varenna and the ferries went from right outside the front door. Not in the middle of Varenna but arguably more convenient for seeing more of Lake Como. Staff were really friendly and always had a smile. Were really ready to help, allowing us into our room early due to heavy rain and finding us a table in the attached cafe for lunch after a morning spent travelling.

We liked the views and brightness of the appartment. It felt modern and nicely decorated. Varenna was a perfect base on Lake Como and this appartment is in a great spot within Varenna. There was everything we needed in the appartment - a fridge, stovetop, all the kitchen utensils, washing machine, outside clothesline off the balcony.
