FAQs about hotels in Naples

Vibrancy, Vespas, Vesuvius

Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.

At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.

While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!

Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.

As for accommodations, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city center apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.

What Guests Said About Naples:

6.0

There is a great deal to see here.

There is a great deal to see here. There are 700 churches, and some of them are very beautiful. We toured the opera house, the royal palace, and the archeological museum was a must see (especially if you visit Pompeii there are many artifacts from that site). Just be prepared it is a very congested city. It is noisy, dirty, and crowded. The drivers of cars and scooters don't follow any lanes and drive fast and swerve around each other. Crossing the street is quite a challenge.

Hills everywhere, so get some comfy shoes!

Hills everywhere, so get some comfy shoes! But the place has cozy streets to get lost in. Traffic is a bit crazy though, would not recommend to rent a car. The food is of course really good, as expected from the birthplace of pizza. The people were overall very nice, and the views are amazing.

Wonderful city, wonderful genuinely hospitable people.

Wonderful city, wonderful genuinely hospitable people. Learn a few sentences in Italian, smile, embrace chaos (traffic!), don't drink 'cappuch' aftter 11:00 am and you will be treated like family! There's so much to do and see in the area, it is worthwhile to stay at least two weeks to explore the suburbs and coastal towns. Take bus 140 (less than 2 euros!) for a spectacular panorama of the bay and Vesuvio, ride the fenicular (also < 2 euros) for a gorgeous view of the entire city. Public transport is efficient and fun, but don't try to be cute with the tickets, controls are frequent.

The city is chaotic and very intense.

The city is chaotic and very intense. It has a lot of history and a vibrant energy, day and night. It might shock someone that might be coming from a more organized and tide location, but if you are open-minded it is just a delight.

You have to get used to the Napoli way of life.

You have to get used to the Napoli way of life. The city is super busy and you have to watchout for yourself whenever you cross the streets. Craziest drivers out there PERIOD. Restaurant/Cafe staff is usually very lazy which is first shocking but then you get used to that also. On a more positive note, the city is something special with its culture, traditions and love to Maradona and football overall. We had the best and worst pizza in the world in Napoli. The Napoli fried and stuffed pizza is super fatty and only for the big hungry guys. On the other hand, the more traditional Italian pizza is worlds best in Napoli. I totally recommend Napoli to everyone that wants to experience something new. Just be prepared for the things i mentioned above and you will be ok. :D

Naples is a city of history and layers of culture and unique vestiges. It is soulful and alive. But you have to like noise and absolute chaos to enjoy staying in this city. It's also full of artful dodgers, con artists and tricksters. People tell you tales and give you the wrong information out of pleasure. They blow their horns incessantly just to show they can. They are full of drama for the smallest things. It is not for me, thanks. I would always pass through Naples and not stop more than one or two nights.

A very quiet place in the historical district. Perfect location to explore Naples by foot. Walking distance to many attractions, great cafes and trattorias. Undeground within 10 minutes walking distance which enables to catch ferry/train comfortably. Room has everything you need for a few day stay. A kettle, towels, a comfortable bed. A huge advantage is silence - sometimes in Italy there is so much noise, Naples is vibrant and very noisy but this place although perfectly located, provided quiet and peaceful place to rest.

Gorgeous rooms, very spacious and decorated to a high standard. Very clean. The sauna was a nice touch for sore muscles with so much walking around Naples. Easy to contact the host through WhatsApp. Location is very central and great for sightseeing but with that comes a little more noise from busy streets. Breakfast is a small buffet continental breakfast which is normal in Italy but as the location is so central there’s ample choices close by for other tastes. Lots of space in room. Two suitcase stands.

In my whole italy trip , this was the only hotel location which felt a bit unsafe and very dirty, I have not clicked the picture but the surrounding is dirty and the view from the 2nd floor of staircase. This was the only hotel which didn't have the elevator. Room is spacious and has a balcony . I got the room at 2nd floor and in the lobby of 2nd floor you cannot breathe properly as it was really smelling bad. Sadly I was hardly able to see locals in my surroundings.

The room was spacious and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the best we have had in Italy. There are a lot of homemade cakes and savoury options. There are also yoghurts / cereal/fruit, etc. All the cakes and savoury bakes (quiches, etc) are homemade salvatore's (a staff member) mother, They are amazing, particularly the pasteria. All the staff are lovely, very helpful, and brilliant for a chat over breakfast and to point out spots to see around Naples.

Very clean and spacious room in a very nice area close to all the main attractions in Naples by metro or funicolare. Fabiana is a great host willing to assist us with any requests we had. The breakfast was typical italian (cafe + croissant) similar to the most hotels in Italy but Fabiana was so kind to also leave us some treats and drinks :)
