Ducal palace and Te palace were amazing not just for the artwork but for the incredible decorated ceilings and walls. Lake tour is well worth doing. Mantegnas house disappointing. It is an easy town to walk around and see everything. The Duomo and of course the Basilica are stunning but also the very old circular church. Virgil’s birthplace well remembered, and the setting for Rigoletto, this place was made by successive ducal dynasties especially the great builder the Gonzagas. We were welcomed by the incredibly kind owner, who showed us around and even allowed us to check out super late, so we had a chance to add an extra lunch to our holiday here.
