Iglesias is underrated but is the perfect starting point to visit the beautiful surrounding coast, hike the Santa Barbara walk, visit geologically remarkable caves, and interesting old mining sites. During the Holy week preceding Easter (actually Tuesday to Tuesday) you will be able to admire the big Easter processions and century old rituals. The city of Iglesias is the right place to be in September. It is still quite warm and one can not only wonder around the old town but also to have some hiking experience. Iglesias itself was a surprise.
Iglesias itself was a surprise. The downtown was bustling, music concert going on in the evening, lots of people, some good shopping, excellent restaurants, and lots to see. Around Iglesias are some stunning beaches like Cala Domestica and the road going north along the coast is incredibly beautiful.
