I really couldn’t find fault with this hotel, so clean, food was great and breakfast really nice, staff really helpful and friendly, it was near Downings Beach and also Tra na Rosanne beach which was spectacular where we went for a swim so beautiful have added a photo of it

A super location - great hotel with wonderful staff - we were made to feel very welcome by everyone. Housekeeping staff, front of house staff and management all went out or their way to make our stay great!

Even though we had a week we missed certain spots we wanted...

Even though we had a week we missed certain spots we wanted to visit but what we saw would bring us back ! We ate mostly at the house and the local supermarket in cresslough was fantastic! Everything you need and more , prices reasonable too. We ate at downings bay hotel for my brother in law’s birthday and it was a great meal. We organised a local mini bus to collect us and bring us home and it was a great price too.

There is nothing to do in Carrickart as such but it could be...

There is nothing to do in Carrickart as such but it could be used as a base to explore the area. Drive to the Glenveah National Park - 22 minutes. Drive to the Fanad lighthouse, 20 minutes, the beach at Downings, 10 minutes, Harry Blaney bridge, 7 minutes and so on. The village has the ubiquitous take away (Mac's) run by a father and son (made me a mean fish and chips), a couple of sit down restaurants and a decent size Centra (with an ATM). There is also a gift shop which makes the place more interesting; one can spend time browsing and making conversation with the lovely Scottish lady!

We had a lovely professional welcome. Beautiful bedroom room and public areas all newly refurbed with lovely decor and furnishings. Hotel Bar was great craic, local entertainment and lots of fun on a Saturday night. The breakfast was exceptional, great choice, local cooked options plus cooked to order which is always a treat. But the stand out here was the staff. Warm, friendly Irish welcome and so helpful at every turn. Will definitely return. A great addition to Carrigart. Don't miss it 💚

Great House. Had everything you needed. Lovely area of Donegal Ideal location for sightseeing,with beautiful lakes mountains,rivers and amazing beaches in every direction.And for night-time entertainment,there are plenty of good bars, restaurants and cafes a short drive away at the Downings or a short walk into Carrigart.

The bed was very comfortable, clean and there was an en-suite, down a step. It was near shops and the hotel. The living and kitchen area was looking on to a busy street. I would have preferred the apartment to the back ( I thought this is what I booked) Plenty of parking.
