I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed...
I loved everything I saw here, just wish I could have stayed longer. I stayed at Prapat Beach, which was close enough to Penida Ferry Port and stunning, with an amazing view of Agung on a clear day. My accomodation was in a great spot and is as advertised. Sari Nadi Beach Stay is only a few k's from the harbour but with traffic, it took around 30mins. I did a tour of West island beaches, which I found disappointing because it was so busy, shoulder-to-shoulder busy! It felt it was impossible to really enjoy it with so many people. The walk down to Kelingking Beach might have been worth it if you didn't have to keep stopping for someone to get their perfect shot! The drive through the countryside was worth it alone though, and if your new to the island, it's a great way to get your bearings for a return visit. Crystal Beach was my pick of the beaches, just don't forget to bring a towel or change to hire one and a bed. Otherwise, you can sit at a table. Overall, I can't wait to go back! One tip, check if there are any days of (religious) observance when you stay. My stay coincided with Nyepi Laut, 'Silence of the Ocean' which means no water activity, great for me because it meant peace and quiet but not if you needed to travel that day.Guest review bySharonAustralia - 6.0

Unfortunately , NP seems to have far too many visitors for what the road infrastructure can handle . The roads to all the local sightseeing hotspots are not wide enough for oncoming vehicle to pass each other without driving on the shoulder of the road ( if it exists ) and constantly causing further damage ,. The roads surfaced are very badly broken a terribly pot- holed . Vehicle journeys to the popular destinations take an inordinately long time with traffic banked up while cars try to pass each other when they can . On the plus ; the restaurants and beach clubs and bars serve excellent food and live music nightly was easy to find . And entertaining . The coastline scenery is fantastic . We did the diving course so 3 course + 3 days beaches are enough for a quick visit. But if you want to relax with the view there plan in more days. Be careful for overpriced taxis as there is no Grab or other alternatives. Take the scooter as much as you can.Guest review byDanielBelgium - 8.0

The typical day excursion with speed boat going and coming to the island in one day is somewhat exhausting, in my optinion. Another recommendion would be to stay at least one overnight, to break the trip up and not be so rushed. Travel light for day trips or your overnight, as it makes it easier boarding speed boats and moving around the harbours. Overnight accomidations are very inexpensive and hotel dining options and restaurants near to the harbour are plentiful. Beach clubs are wonderful on the North shore near Prapat Beach and have nightly entertainment. They were clean, spacious and confortable. The staff are very nice and helpfull, always have a solution for any queries. We rented a scooter and went around the island. The place is a 10 minuite (or less) walk to Crystal Bay, but there is not much around so bring cash. You can have dinner at the warungs on the beach (they close early) or in the hotel retaurants (there are only few options, but all are good).
